Bridezillas, give me your opinions!?

My fiance and I are currently planning our wedding and we had an idea that we really liked: What about using fruit arrangements instead of flower arrangements for our reception? Some of them look really nice and I thought it would be nice for the guests to snack on. This is not an extremely formal wedding and we like to do things out of the ordinary. I know that only OUR opinion matters, but if you were a guest, honestly, what would you think? Some examples:

Bridezillas, give me your opinions!?
Say
FlowersBirthday FlowersSympathy FlowersI think it%26#039;s a great idea. I%26#039;m not terribly traditional when it comes to weddings, and if yours isn%26#039;t really formal, I say go for it.

I ordered a centerpiece one time from edible arrangements, and it was beautiful. However, it was during the winter and some of the fruit was not very ripe. For the high price they charge, I wanted ripe fruit! (The honeydew was really hard and not sweet). If you decide to get a fruit arrangement, make sure you ask them what fruit they can get in season, and let them know you are concerned about it all being ripe.
Reply:I like it! Honestly, most centerpieces are pretty useless, except for decoration. If you%26#039;re going to spend money on it, make it fun. I initially considered having whole fruits to decorate and then donate them to a food bank after the reception. Now we%26#039;re letting my fiance%26#039;s grandmother just make a centerpiece so she can contribute.
Reply:Wow! That is a really neat idea!!! I think I%26#039;m going to do that for my wedding. I say go for it:)
Reply:I really love this idea!! Plus the arrangements look very nice! Who doesn%26#039;t love beautiful fresh strawberries! Yum...
Reply:I am not a bridezilla, but will answer your questions anyway...

I love ediblearrangements!!! I think it would nice if you had a small chocolate fondue dish for each table as well if you do the strawberry one! I know I would love that if I were a guest. Freshly dipped berries are my absolute favorite!

Also, if you wanted to make those you could. Have you ever ordered anything from them? The way they make everything is fairly simple. You can get a bowl or even a large mouth vase and get one of those foam balls and large skewing sticks and the fruit. It may take some time to do right before the wedding, but you can have them made the night before put in a fridge and save lots of money since EA is a little on the pricey side.
Reply:Edible arrangements are an awesome idea. However, you just have to ascertain if there%26#039;s a location which can deliver them FRESH to you just before the reception. Fruit can%26#039;t %26#039;wait%26#039;.
Reply:YUMMY!!!

I do not like chocolate and would prefer to be seated at a table with naked fruit (or see if they can mix the covered and naked fruit). Could I keep the container when I left? Sooooo pretty!!!!

I love this idea! Wish I was getting married so that I could do this.
Reply:ummm no stick to the flowers
Reply:why not go with wrapped candy instead? the arrangements are pricey and get messy after a while.
Reply:I love this store!

I think it%26#039;s a great idea!

Congrats!
Reply:I love the idea. Especially cool if your emcee announces that the fruit is for eating and invites guests to take a piece of fruit home with them.
Reply:I would have the fruit off to the side so guests know they can eat it. A buffet style table with fruit and apps also will give them more opportunity to mingle.
Reply:Nothing wrong with that but i do not care for them, I would miss the flowers can you do some of each?
Reply:You know, I thought about doing a chocolate covered strawberries centerpiece from Edible Arrangements. I was going to provide decorative little bags on the table too, so that they would double as centerpieces and favors.

I think it%26#039;s a great idea. However, I was worried the chocolate might melt. I would suggest calling the company and asking them their opinion.

But, it sounds like a great idea. I%26#039;m glad, I%26#039;m not the only person in the world that thought of this idea.
Reply:Can be very expensive. Maybe too pretty to eat, so be sure guests are given the clue to enjoy while waiting for the meal and festivities.
Reply:Sure! I think it is a great idea.

And I always feel like fruit after a meal.

I would eat the fruit!! And appreciate it.
Reply:I think that%26#039;s a great idea....it%26#039;s a shame in a way that there%26#039;s only one floral table arrangement to each table and if it%26#039;s an option only a few people walk away with them....now this way you can have a seasonal fruit arrangement and everyone can have at it! very, very clever!
Reply:Its a unique idea, but here are some things you should think about first:

1. The price: it would be cheaper to go to Costco or Sam%26#039;s and buy the fruits and the containers.

2. When guest arrive they will start snacking on the arrangements, and after a awhile there will be no centerpieces on the table.

3. Bacteria can grows quickly . After 3 hours you can can 64 times the amount of the original. Do you really want to have people going to hospital for food poisoning.

4. This is my opinion, but if I were a guest I would not want to snack on food that everyone has touched and breath on and also because of reason 3
Reply:that looks yummie , very cool !!!!!!!ideagenealogy mormon
