2 questions!!! #1 Calla lillies expensive in FL? #2 Silk faux paux?

#1. Love calla lillies but are unsure of cost. Would like to spend no more than $500-$700 %26amp; bridesmaids offered preparation (afraid florist will be too much). Reception is at country club %26amp; desired vibe is romantic evening in candlelight with clean %26amp; simple -but elegant-flower arrangements. There is no flower wholesaler locally that I know of, nor have I ever seen a calla lilly in Publix, or in Florida for that matter, etc. Please let me know if I%26#039;m out of my mind.

#2. Before I begin let me tell you that I despise fake flowers. However, while in Pier 1 Imports, I have to admit they had the most gorgeous long stemmed flowers -about $4-$7 ea %26amp; they are huge. The stem base is wax %26amp; flower is silk or wax depending on type. I would not use add%26#039;l flowers, but just place 5 flowers or so in a tall, narrow clear vase. What would your opinion be if you saw this at a wedding. P.S.-if you aren%26#039;t familiar w/P1 Imp.-these could surely pass inspection %26amp; I think the dimmly-lit room would help.

This one once again awesome prices, unbeatable really.

This also has amazing prices, its 650 for 200 standard lillies and 80 minis, you of course have to do the work yourself, but they also offer different colors and other packages that have roses and lillies and stuff, take a look, I can say the above sites are 3 of the most amazing ones ive seen yet.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Ive been researching flowers for like 5 months and those are the best of the bunch.
Reply:There are silk flowers out there that look real unless you touch them. In a dim light no one would be the wiser. With your budget, depending on how many you need, you can probably pull it off much cheaper than real ones. You%26#039;d also be able to let %26#039;special%26#039; family and friends and those who helped out with the wedding take home a centerpiece as a thank you and special memento. I know of several women who did that and they loved it. Best wishes!

Reply:Hey-I used ivory English roses from Pottery Barn, and everyone kept asking if they were real, so I say YES to silk flowers.

I have seen the silks at Pier One, and they are so pretty, so yes, go for it!flower
